“And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.” — Matthew 7:25
Listen, storms are coming. Not maybe, not might, not someday—coming. You can pray, shout, speak in tongues, but you can’t skip the storm. Trouble will find your address. Sickness will knock on your door. Bills will pile up. Hearts will break.
But here’s the good news: Jesus said you can be storm-proof. Not storm-free, but storm-proof. There’s a difference. A storm-free life doesn’t exist. But a storm-proof house? That’s built on the Rock.
Now you can build on feelings if you want. You can build on culture if you want. You can build on family traditions if you want. But feelings fade. Culture shifts. Traditions change. Only the Word of God stands.
And let me remind you—the Rock ain’t a principle, the Rock is a Person. His name is Jesus. The same Jesus who stood in the storm of Calvary, who faced the winds of sin and the floods of death, and still didn’t fall. If He stood then, He can hold you steady now.
Reflection:
- What’s shaking your house right now?
- Is your life built on sand or on the Savior?
Prayer:
Lord, help me stand when the winds blow. Build me on the Rock that never shifts, never cracks, never crumbles. Let my life be storm-proof because it’s anchored in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
